This time of year is a busy photo time for me so when we get a good run of decent nights - I am usually either taking pics or processing them. But I did get in a few nights - about 20 hours over two weeks of the Cederblad 214 nebula. I used an ASI1600MM-C camera - Ha, Oiii, and Sii Astrodon Filters on a SV70T refractor. I used the hubble palette (SHO) as the Ha was so dominate. I also took 90 pics (30 each) RGB for the stars - 3 second exposures....and I desaturated them to look more like stars than Christmas tree lights.
Now the rain has returned and this week will be clouds and drizzle - Stepping Beyond and I just have to deal with it. I also did get a night in for the Bubble Nebula but haven't processed.
I haven't had much time to be on the "Hog" but you guys are putting up some pretty wicked cool stuff!
.......and I did get time to process this NGC7635 (Bubble Nebula) - I used the same OTA and camera - 6 hours of exposure, 40 Ha, 40 OIII, and 40 SII ...each exposure 3 minutes.

Being a work horse these days (sometimes more a daze...), I understand, Ed.
Beautiful work there, as is usual for your posts.
When I have the skies (cloudy lately), I usually don't have the energy.
When I have the energy, and the time where I'm not due for a 3:00 AM gittie-up, it's cloudy.
Nice to see you getting some time out. Have you finished your final permanent setup?

It was good to be out Europa - I would image every night if I could! We have another hurricane that now has in it's path the Carolinas so it looks like we have more dismal nights, astronomically speaking.

It is as permanent as it will ever be......or until the HOA changes its position on outbuildings. I added an umbrella (9 foot patio) that helps keep it protected from the sun but I doubt (even if the HOA did relent) I would spend any more money. At age 73 it gets harder and harder to justify spending the "grands" money on toys.
When you put the "cost benefit analysis" test to it.....astronomy may be one of the more expensive hobbies. Considering what we have spent on cameras and gear given the limited times we are able to use due to clear skies - factor in mortality and the number of guestimated clear sky nights ahead of me.
Darn, that is depressing!

Haha, yes I hear you. I need to listen tho. I just purchased a used Paramount ME. I was a bit concerned that Celestron no longer has motors for my mount. Every purchase, I say this is the last.
I thought you were easing up on work, seems you are staying pretty busy still.

My plan was to ease up two years ago. But I contracted with our local paper to cover Clemson games - plus I do all of Dorman's sporting events. I gave up on the Falcons and Panthers - too much work and too much expense for the comp. I prefer to be around high school and college athletes than pro.
I still enjoy the photography but loathe the travel.

I’m a Buckeye fan, right now the prediction is Clemson vs OSU in the playoffs. Of course these are still the way too early bowl predictions. We owe Clemson for a terrible beating a few years ago.

There is a lot of football to be played - Clemson has a pretty easy schedule and that in and of itself may be their undoing. They need convincing wins like last week against Wake to pull that off. I think Ohio State, Ga, the Irish, and Ala will be in the final 4.
