Great shots again, Jim. Yesterday was (IMHO) the most spectacular day of the year, or at least this season. Because of the rain, everything was crystal clear; the mountains were so close and the fall colors stunning. Wind is blowing today, weather calling for stormy weather. Fall is transitioning to winter.

I'm not sure whether yesterday will be counted as the season's most spectacular day quite yet, but it certainly wasn't bad. I'd entertained the thought of going into lower Sevenmile Canyon (seen in the first image) today, but that's not going to happen. The sound of heavy rain woke me around 6 am, and that and the wind (and occasional hail) has only intensified between then and now. If it were possible to get where I'd thought of going --which it is not-- at this point, I'd find a massive waterfall near the route into the canyon. And below, there'd be a wall to wall torrent of water and ripped up vegetation coursing downcanyon where its ordinarily dry. Around here, the cottonwoods haven't turned yellow yet, so there's plenty of fall left to come.
