Hands on First Impressions of the Nikon Z7 by Photography Life Website

Here is a link to Photography Life's website, where they have been using the Z7 for a couple of days. As the article states, this is a"First Impressions" of the Z7, NOT a full scale review, which they will be doing soon. Supposedly they have a total of 6 Z models ordered, and will be doing extensive testing of the cameras and posting results.

According to the article, they have found Pro's and Con's with the Z7 in the two days they have been using it. One of the Con's is that with the FTZ adapter attached to the camera, Arca-Swiss compatible brackets will not be able to be used with the adapter attached. Another Con that they have gotten is an error message when trying to use a third party battery in the camera. There have also been some reports that certain third party lenses do not work on the camera, but in the two days that they have used the camera, the Tamron 15-30mm lens they used worked fine.

Here is the link, so you can read this First Impression article yourself..... https://photographylife.com/nikon-z7-first-impressions-and-sample-photos?utm_source=Photography+Life+Newsletter&utm_campaign=9c3334bd58-newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_74d1711c3d-9c3334bd58-183935841#utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=nikon-z7-first-impressions-and-sample-photos

Spencer Cox is an educator and a great photographer. He has been using Nikon gear for many years and knows it well. This is obviously a new camera and NO camera is perfect.
I have not given any thoughts to this mirrorless from Nikon, so satisfied I have been with my Olympus M43 system. It is my understanding that Olympus will debut a new sensor next year and at present nobody knows if it is the same size sensor with more pixels or a radically new sensor in which case the lenses we are using now most probably will be obsolete. Logic makes me think the new sensor will be a sensor similar to what they offer now but with more pixels for those photographers that need more pixels.
I know many of the cons of the new Nikon mirrorless will be fixed with software updates and eventually with a new camera.
