Love this time of year with the cooler temps, drier air and visiting some farms in central Illinois. These were all taken w/a Canon 60d, 18 - 135 kit lens, hand held with minimal PP. Downloads show dramatically sharper than thumbnails. Other than that, no further explanation necessary other than the yield in this area is fantastic this year.
Great series! These shots bring back memories of when I was a farm kid in western Illinois. Of course the machines were a lot smaller then. It took Dad a long time to clear an eighty acre field with a two row cornpicker.
Thanks Axiesdad. Yep, technology sure has changed. Unbelievable what the equipment, computerization and modern farming techniques have produced.
My kind of photos!
I miss those old days out in the combine, working in the fields. I get my fix now when my farmer lets me ride along with him, or just sitting out in the field in my pickup watching. Once in a while I get lucky and they let me move some equipment around from farm to farm for them.
