GoGo van Gogh-Gogh, the Ministry of Mayhem's world-renowned Artist-in-Residence, had a surprise visitor last night, a hooded figure who claimed to be an old friend from his home town of Dingledorff, back in Rumania. This was something of an eyebrow-raiser to the rest of us, as we thought he'd come from Poughkeepsie. However.

They spent some time reminiscing about Dingledorff, while sharing a bottle of the Martian's Plutonium Joy Juice. Towards the end of the bottle, the hooded figure said he'd been sent by a certain unnamed Dark Lady, with whom GoGo had once spent a wild weekend. She'd had an illegitimate son, a lad she'd named OhNo van Gogh-Gogh, and that, rather than the Dark Talents she'd hoped for, OhNo had instead inherited his father's artistic ability. As proof, he proffered a sketch OhNo had done of a popular Rumanian beach.

GoGo stared open-mouthed at the sketch, recognizing a variant of his own artistic method, his glass of Joy Juice slowly placed unfinished on the table.

The questions, of course, on everyone's mind: 1) Would GoGo acknowledge Ohno as his illegitimate son and perhaps take him under his wing, and 2) Was the glass of Joy Juice half full or half empty?

Pick me, pick me - I know the answer! But I'm not tellin'

Is it my faulty memory or have the forms on the beach multiplied in the past few years?

Lovely picture of a beautiful setting.
Answers:
1. Perhaps, but wisdom would dictate further research.
2. Depends on what lies ahead.

Well, it's got me stumped Randy, has OhNo painted this or is it just a copy of GoGo's painting to be honest I don't really NoNo so if I was GoGo I would GoGo and have a word with this unnamed Dark lady.I think personally GoGo should lay off that Joy Juice and stop having wild weekends with Dark Ladies.Thats a big NoNo to me and I've come to the conclusion that maybe I should lay off this strange bottle of looney juice I've just been drinking because I'm getting terribley confused. It is a beautiful piece of work though Randy.

Thanks, Linda. The shot itself was fine, but seemed the same old same old. Added a sketch layer, brought something new to a scene I'd shot a hundred times.

As for the boats, an usually warm late summer kept the larger boats moored and the dinghies on the beach much later than normal. Usually they're getting sparse by Labor Day. Not this year, with temps constant in the 90's and high humidity. More folks on the beach than I've ever seen so late in the year. So you're quite right!

Thanks for the smile and your visit, always very much appreciated!

Thanks, Bob. Glad you enjoyed "OhNo's" sketch. I've shot this scene year after year after year, and while the photo was okay, I found it boring--same old thing. Tried using a new sketch filter (from Redfield) and the image was transformed into something more interesting (at least to me, lol).

I'm sure our questions will be answered as time goes by, lol.

Thanks for the kind words and your visit, I always appreciate them!

Just so long as you didn't find it SoSo, lol! Thanks, Angler. Half the population of Rumania is a direct result of Plutonium Joy Juice intake (Rumania being the Martian's single largest customer, after North Dakota and Rhode Island), so OhNo is really nothing special, other than having interesting parents. I'm sure his mother is terribly disappointed that he lacks her own Dark Talent, but maybe with a little coaching from GoGo, he'll be a halfway decent artist. Maybe not Ministry of Mayhem caliber, but at least decent.

Thanks for the laugh and your visit, always enjoy and appreciate them!

Thanks, Carol. A different 'look' for this particular scene, which I've shot many times. The sketch gave it a fresh feel, so I went with it. Glad you enjoyed it. We'll have to wait and see how our questions are answered, but I'm sure it won't take too long to get to the bottom either of the Dark Lady's identity or the glass...

Thanks for the kind comments and your visit, always very much appreciated!

Thanks, Greg. How many times can one do the same scene and not grow tired of it? Well, after sixty-plus years of shooting this one, I won't say I'm exactly tired of it, but... The sketch breathed a bit of new life into it, that I will say, lol. Will GoGo ever meet Ohno? Does he even remember his fling with that special Dark Lady, or was he too drunk that weekend to remember who she was? Will GoGo drain that half-full/half-empty glass of Joy Juice? I hope we'll find some answers before we all grow old.

Thanks for the kind comments and your visit, always very much appreciated!
