FIRST, God does not get involved in politics. Remember, ALL of these Russian, err, Republican presidential candidates CLAIM that they were CHOSEN BY GOD to be president:
Scott Walker
John Kasich
Ben Carson
Rick Perry
Rick Santorum
Mike Huckabee
How do you LOSE the presidency if GOD CHOSE YOU FOR THAT JOB?
Presuming that God DID get involved in politics, how do these false prophets actually think that God would choose someone as president that violates the ten commandments? HAHAHAHA!
You shall have no other gods before Me. (Violated by Trump)
You shall not make idols. (Violated by Trump)
You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. (Violated by Trump)
Honor your father and your mother. (Not sure how he treated his parents, probably the same way he treats everyone else)
You shall not murder. (Violated by Trump)
You shall not commit adultery. (Violated by Trump)
You shall not steal. (Violated by Trump)
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. (Violated by Trump)
You shall not covet. (violated by Trump)
Your quite the piece of work. It must really suck to be you.

Germans prayed to God and lost twice.
Iraq prayed to God and were incredibly crushed.
Both thought that they were chosen.
If you read the Bible king David had a guy killed so he wouldn't know David was screwing his wife and got her pregnant.
I could go on and on with God's chosen leaders were not moral Boy Scouts either.
Your whole diatribe is really stupid from the premise on and goes downhill from there.
Jim, if you want to invoke God, keep in mind that hatred is one of the vices God doesn't like. You seem to be possessed with hatred focused on one person, our current president. That all consuming hatred is not a healthy thing.

But what about the point of this thread? What's your position on Republican presidential candidates who claim they were CHOSEN BY GOD to be president?

So, are you saying that being chosen by God is meaningless? I would tend to agree with you, but many here don't.
The same position I'd take regarding Democrat politicians claiming they were chosen by God. The being, "Really?".

Lots of politicians from BOTH sides of the aisle say stupid shit. If any were truly chosen, they would have won...
God doesn't get involved in politics? Read the old testament dumb shit!

God may not, todays evangelicals certainly do. I thought most Christians distanced themselves from the old testament. They sure do when certain passages come up. How can one read Job and not conclude If God is God he is not good. If God is good he is not God. And then there is all the rape sanctioned by God. Generally these things cause Christians to say "that's the old testament". Since you are obviously embracing the old testament, perhaps you would like to weigh in. The old testament is at least as bloody as the Quran.
Which God, or who's God are we discussing?
There's only one. The catch is that he tells different people different things to believe. Then He sits back and takes great amusement in watching the different people try to lead their pious lives and argue with those who don't believe the way they do.
