Here that type of fungi is known as Turkey Wing and it is supposed to be editable but I have not found how to prepare them. Good shots.

I looked it up. Turkey Tail mushrooms! Amazon to the rescue.

Thanks, Merrytexan. Yes, when I got to thinking about it, it is similar to the monarchs when they pile up on those trees, too.

Good shots, Eleanor! I've never seen a mushroom that big! I'm leary about eating any mushrooms, but my friend in Indiana knows which are okay and which aren't and she picks them and cooks them all the time!

Thank you, Sue! Apparently from what I've been told about these pictures, they are turkey tail mushrooms and are sold on Amazon. There are several more around the stump. Wish I knew for certain, would be quite a feast.
