I was at the beach near Tarpon Springs, FL watching a blah sunset develop, and about ready to go home. There was a bad T storm behind me, and I was thinking of running before things got nasty. Suddenly some heavy storm clouds blew in from the north, and it was a game changer. I got a little soggy fleeing the scene just before the deluge, but here's one of the shots of the wildly changing sky.
Frank,
I almost hate to mention the 1degree of off-kilter of the horizon...but OMG, this is an awesome image
Other than the horizon it is unimprovable.
The impact is to kill for!
Composition? A Cosmic gift.

It was just that kind of a moment. You almost couldn't screw it up. Some recent tutorials from KelbyOne were very helpful to the post processing. Thank you for your kind evaluation of the work. You have a great eye to catch that slight tilt. Obviously I'm kind of a klutz and couldn't tell the difference of one degree this way or that. I think I'm naturally a little bit crooked. ;)

It almost never hurts to wait.
Wonderful image. Particularly like the color of rocks in foreground.
I really like the foreground. My screen will not show the entire vertical, so it automatically crops off a bit of the top or bottom. Actually, I sort of like it with that top layer of clouds cropped out. The crooked horizon does disturb me - mostly because I'm so often guilty of it myself. I totally understand why you shot this in vertical, but I think scenes like these are better in horizontal. I normally shoot both just because magazine covers need to be vertical, But I prefer the horizontals.
I love the colors and how you have processed this. Yes the rocks are wonderful, but so is that sky.
