Buddy Rich....

Well, usnpilot has plagiarized an article of rampant misinformed observation, that I admit is somewhat better than the usual run of bile conservatives read. Too bad the author wasn’t recognized.

It begins with a Buddy Rich quote, and since music and percussion was my trade, I offer an anecdote or joke about Buddy that is passed around with enthusiasm among musicians.

It seems after Buddy died, a fellow knocked on his door and asked to speak to Buddy, and the person who answered the door explained that Buddy was dead.

The visitor said “Thank You,” and walked away.

Three or four days later he returned and again asked to speak to Buddy. Again he was told Buddy had passed, and again he said ‘Thank You,’ and left.

Three or four days later still, the visitor returned for the third time, knocked, and asked for Buddy.

His answer was, “Dammit, I told you Buddy’s dead! Can’t you get that through your damned head. Buddy’s Dead!!”

“I know,” the visitor said, “I just like hearing it.”

Now, the article is a bit misinformed or misleading.

“We just want an asshole who can play. And with the economy roaring and North Korea neutralized and ISIS basically contained and defeated, it appears that despite all the weirdness that surrounds him, he (Donald Trump) can, indeed, play.”

I beg to differ.

North Korea is anything but neutralized. In fact, thanks to Trump, Kim is fully recognized as a legitimate leader, honorable and trustworthy, respected by the President of the United States, lauded by him, and at the same time Kim made a total fool out of Trump, made a fool of him an the public stage for the world to see.

Kim traded a caved-in nuclear laboratory and 50 remains allegedly of US Soldiers for National Legitimacy and International Respect, and a agreement to make the Korean Peninsula a nuclear-free zone, and since South Korea has no nuke weapons, and is protected by the US nuclear umbrella, the agreement implies we will abandon South Korea and our nuclear protection of it.

Some victory, huh, Donald?

And if ISIS is contained and defeated, why are people still dying? why are US soldiers dying? why are the bombs still sounding?

West Point teaches that War is Imposing Your Will Upon Your Enemy.

Upon Whom Did We Impose Our Will In The Middle East??

And at what friggin’ cost?

Think about it...

Now the economy is humming, to be fair and honest, and it’s no surprise. Business always fares well under Fascism. We give up the environment—by 2030 we’ll be lost—we give up protection for consumers, we give in to corruption, irresponsibility, market manipulation—Hell, Republicans lead the way in Market Manipulation, don’t they, Congressional Republicans and Cabinet Members getting rich!!—and the Stock Marker thrives in ecstasy...Just Like 2008, right?

And so I read about Trump. I read how his insiders knew he was crazy and dishonest, incompetent and crazy, diligent in his ignorance and still crazy, and were talking about the 25th Amendment from the get-go!

I read about experienced politicians who gave up their honest careers to frustrate his efforts—in order to protect the country, they did this—they look the other way as he speaks, then stab him in the back to protect us, and they take orders from the Commander-in-Chief, then ignore them for world safety.

Someday this will all end. I’ll read and re-read the books and articles, and marvel at the incompetence and corruption, and the stupidity and the dishonesty, and the voters who hoodwinked themselves, believing...believing?...believing in something, I think?...believing in...believing in what?

And I’ll enjoy re-experiencing the era, and I’ll read and gasp at what we lived through, how close we came to war with Mexico, Syria, Iran, and North Korea, how Racism and White Supremacy became national policy, how Republican After Republican got rich in office, about corruption and bribery and lying and stealing, and incompetence generally, and I’ll love reading all of it.

Just like Buddy in the story that usnpilot plagiarized, and just like Buddy’s fan I wrote about, and about the final story of Republicans and Donald J. Trump we’re about to see, I Just Like Hearing It.

I just hope that we survive it.

Perhaps you could clarify. Did you find an error in my logic or facts? Point it out please. (I know you can’t and you won’t.)

I gave my thoughts clearly on the content; if you’re unhappy with them, give us your thoughts.

Broad brushwork like “asswipe” answers nothing, evades everything.

usnpilot screwed up again, appropriating an article without admitting it wasn’t his own work, and supporting the article that, while better than the average conservative stuff, was absolutely wrong on some issues and misleading on others.

I invite you to lay out your opinion with examples and fact, even with responsible informed opinion if you wish, and there’s a chance one or the other of us—in the best of all possible worlds, both of us—will learn and end up more informed, with increased understanding, and thus become better people.

However, if you try to shine bullshit as usnpilot did, you have to answer for it as he did.

That’s how Truth survives and citizens grow.
