Found this interesting on a short walk with my pup (handheld with dog pulling or would be sharper ;) Do you like it with the web anchoring it or do you think I need to get rid of the web?

such an interesting find. A good advertisement for having a camera with you all the time. I would keep the web.

Thanks Eric - I have to say, having the Fuji now is much easier and fun to grab up and go. Hopefully I will take advantage of that!

Deer2ker,

Your sensitive image of a sturdy, albeit dead curled leaf of a Silver Maple suspended by two strands of spider silk is engrossing. The image is technically unimprovable. Please...by all means keep the two threads of spider silk. The leaf , by its suspending guys, is all the more stabilized in wonderfully sharp focus against the beautiful background bokeh.

I appreciate that you have maintained much opportunity for a variety of possible creative crops, if the posted version should possibly be thought to be thereof in need.

A strong image with good impact. I suspect it would stop any gallery stroller in his tracks!

Best regards,

Dave

Keep the web. Otherwise the image raises all kinds of questions and suggestions of photo trickery.

Nah, you gotta have the web there, but it does look like the image is inverted.

That's a cool image. I've sort of pondered about the web. Since we're on a 2D plane, I think having the web lends a bit more interest. Otherwise, the leaf could simply be lying on the ground instead of suspended in air.

And that makes you an interesting photographer! I really like this leaf on the web. Nice catch.

I think the web makes the shot. It takes an ordinary shot of a leaf up a few notches. Good eye.

It does! Unless you look close and see the real reason it is stuck like that ;)

I appreciate that so much! If I can make one person stop and pause a little, I feel I have done something right ;)
