I read the articles and IMHO, they are not completely different scenarios - the second article is a follow up and said they discovered that the hole was not made from a micrometeorite but from a drill, probably done before launch, and they are now looking for the responsible party.

At least there was some basis of truth in both stories -- There was indeed a hole --- That was the effect -- However the cause "may" still be in doubt -- More in depth reporting regarding this plot of unknown origin to disrupt international relationships with film, interviews & sorted details @ 11:00

And, by the way, I did not state that I disagreed with either or both articles, I just stated that I prefer to confirm something on my own rather than blindly believe anything I hear or see on the internet or TV. Excuse me for preferring to think on my own rather than believe whatever is put in front of me, but I will continue to think for myself without being concerned what someone else thinks about me.

Reporters rush to put out news stories without necessarily getting the whole picture. That could be the case here.

I have a tendency to believe the same. It would seem that the damage would have been visible at the time it was reported by the crew. I should think that the crew would be very cautious about relaying dubious information to ground control.

The pictures are completely different. The first article picture looks like what you’d expect on the inside from a meteorite. The one in the second article could look drilled.
