We ran a photo booth at the senior's centre in my home town with the members of the local photo club taking pictures for the public at no charge. Many of them needed some serious corrections . . this one happens to be one that I have permission to use and wanted to see how some of you would turn this into a desirable image to possibly frame.
Please feel free to download the photo to your computer. Then you can edit it as you feel appropriate. Color shifts, black and white conversions, filters, whatever you want to do. When you are finished, post your edit in this thread. Edits will be accepted until Thursday at 9 pm. At that point we will switch over to Voting. Thank you for participating.

I like what you did with the background.
Here's my take. Portraiture is probably my weakest aspect in photography.
Probably not what the "customer" is looking for, but I saw knee restoration as what the image needed.

What a great idea, both for the photographers to practice and for a service to the community! So far, I like Jim-Pop's rendition. I like the way it is cropped and the way the background has been made less prominent.

. . . agree on both points!
A little forward in time.
The background was a bit too busy, distracting and "old" for me. So got to practice doing overlays, which I had put on the backburner for a while. Also lessened the darker pigment around his eyes. Good lookin' kid!

I did not like the background, nor did I like that the knees were crowded into the corner. So I changed the background, brightened the face, toned down the clothes and the sky, and altered the crop. I think it is an improvement.
