So, let me start off by saying I am fat. I know this about myself and do my best to keep it under control. I exercise regularly and outside of my love for Cokes and chocolate, I eat pretty healthy. I am saying this because when I visited Florence, Italy a couple of weekends ago, I climbed 1000 stairs up in a day. I climbed the dome of the main cathedral as well as the bell tower of the same church, a total of about 1000 steps up and then another 1000 down. The trip was worth it though and I made a couple of really nice shots- surprisingly with my iPhone. One is a panoramic from the dome looking out at Florence while the other shot is of the dome itself. If you look closely, you can see the very small people standing on the top portion of the dome. A breathtaking view in both places, but the dome view was truly magnificent. If I had to do it again and choose one, it would be the dome. Anyway, hope you enjoy these. I was pretty proud of the panoramic and had to do very little editing on it. Difficult to get a really good horizon, but was careful and think it paid off.
The first one is a great shot.
Very attractive cityscapes.

Great shots, well done. I too am a Coke (zero) and chocolate (Melt-Me, Bangkok, fantastic) man, though I don't know about the regular exercise and always eating healthy part. I did something similar at Heaven's Gate, China (see Land Rover commercial, Dragon Challenge). Unexpectedly arriving at the top of the stairs (cable car and escalator), at the keyhole, walked down the 999 steps, then turned around and walked back up just to say I did it. Unfortunately for photos, weather didn't cooperate, but hey, it was still impressive.
BTW, Suzhou is a beautiful town, the old part. Really amazed when I took the subway and popped up in the modern town, like another world.

Well, if you walked up 1,000 stairs, it seems logical you'd have to walk down the same number.
Keep up the diet and exercise... You'll make it to 50 easily.
Enjoyed these views quite a bit (it's likely I'll not get there, at least soon). I'd give a slight edge to the view OF the dome, because it gives context, but I'm guessing your choice was the pano FROM the dome? It's not clear which "dome view" you meant, but perhaps that's just me. Would love to see these larger to appreciate all the detail. If you're inclined to post them again (you likely know this already) check the "Store original" box to give the rest of us a downloadable view. Cheers!
So might have been more accurate to say, “A magnificent view in both places but the dome view was truly breathtaking”.
😁
A great overlook of the city. Well taken.
