I want to have a photo book made consisting of photos of my granddaughter's first year. I am looking for an online service that make the book using those thick durable pages found in children's books or something similar. Any suggestions?

I have made books by taking regular prints, and dry mounting them back-to-back with either other photos or blank prints depending on the book layout, and then having Kinkos or such bind them with a plastic spiral binding. It makes a nice stiff page and has the look of a children's book, especially with a bright color plastic binding.

If you have Lightroom, their book module is excellent.

Miller labs has a book that has thick pages. You don’t get as many pages in a book, but they are durable.

I have made several books with Shutterfly. They are very high quality with heavy paper used in the pages - not rip-proof if abused, but they are a keepsake quality.

I use Adoramapix. I, and others who've seen my books agree - they have VERY thick pages.

Snapfish, lay flat premium has thick pages. Wait for a 50% off sale then it becomes quite reasonable

I have used Shutterfly several times. You can customize pages and add pages.

Shop all of the book manufacturers for your specific paper first. I have never used the type of paper you describe and it could be hard to find. Any book manufacturer you choose will have software available to you. You might even consider looking at something like the Amazon self publish site for books, as they might have the book paper you want. AmazonKDP I think it's called.

Shutterfly does a nice job, and you order it with thick, lay-flat paper.

Adorama books are nice, I also really like the ones from collage.com!

Thank you for all your comments. I elected to get the book made at Mixbooks.com, they have the option of using thick lay flat paper. I couldn't get a good idea from Shutterlfly on their paper weights. The final test will be when my granddaughter gets her hands on the book for her first birthday....
