I may have an unexpected week off and I am considering several locations for a quick drivable vacation. I have already posted one about Utah. But I have thought about Kings Canyon is as well. How have our flyers affected the area is it hazy would it be good for photography at this time. Also what is the weather like cool evenings warm days.

The fires are fully contained, but I would call the NPS or USFS offices and ask them about smoke levels. Right now, highs are 75 deg. lows 58 deg. Air quality is listed as moderate.

During the recent nearby fires, King's Canyon was affected with smoke issues. However, the fire near Yosemite is now fully contained, so King's Canyon is pretty good with air quality now. (I live just a little over an hour from King's Canyon entrance gate).

After my post this morning, I've noticed that we are experiencing very poor air quality in the San Joaquin Valley today, which may or may not affect King's Canyon. This may indicate that there is a new fire in the region? Not sure. You will want check both the Cal Fire Website, and check with the National Park Service for an update before heading to King's Canyon.
