If you are on a Mac your when your photos application is open with photos the small circle i at the top click and
it will give you the details of the shot. Even cell phone data.

OK........Now for the flip side of this question, and possibly another "Not so bright" question. How do you remove the EXIF information from a image that is to be uploaded? And, BTW, I find this information helpful to me, especially the ISO, shutter speed, focal length, mode of shooting (M,P,A,S.), etc. Thanks.

Again, Lightroom Classic has options for inclusion of metadata upon export.

I haven't asked a dumb question in awhile so here goes. I always hear people say to check "store original" so others can see information on how the shot was taken, which equipment, etc. So when I'm trying to learn what people did to get what I think is a magnificent shot I always bring up the original. But I have no idea how to find this information. When I do this I only see the photo. I know only one of you will need to answer this, but I thought if I can't figure this out perhaps there are some other newer to this beginners who don't know how to find the information either. Thanks in advance for your help.

Store original is not so much for exif data but rather then ability to provide a better quality photo. if you don't "store original" you get A flimsy thumbnail. The exif data can be removed if the person uses a tool to lop it off, store original may not mean the exif is there. Windows has has a properties click it you right click on the file. Tools like lightroom will will provide much more info. I would imagine macs have an equivalent means.

But, asking what exposure setting were used is irrelevant unless they are standing next to you when you took the shot. If I shoot the Milky Way with a f/1.2 lens, 4 sec at ISO 3200, and they have a 3.5 - 5.6 lens, my exposure setting are not going to produce the image they are looking for and will be frustrating.

It is a data point that is meaningless unless you were there.

I understand what you are saying and agree with you 100%. But for me as a beginner, on one photo that I thought was among the best I'd ever seen, I am now able to see that the person shot with the same camera I own, but a different lens than what I own. So perhaps when I am thinking of the next lens I want to purchase I will think about adding that one. Also, though exposure etc is all different sometimes from moment to moment, knowing those details is helping me find a starting point that I can then play with and adjust. I know so little that all of these things are fun for me to look at and try to adapt for my own use. Of course, it would never be exactly the same as what the person who took the shot experienced at that moment. Just trying to learn all I can. And the question was asked originally because so many on UHH say "store original" so we can help you. I always appreciate your advice. Thank you.

If I Understand your concern, just activate your "Histagram" from your Camera's Menu, that is where you will find details of the image you just captured.
