B&H offers overnight shipping. If you're too cheap to pay for it, you don't need it.

Amen.

I prefer UPS to FedEx, but only because the UPS place is closer to me and I can have them hold it when I am not there to receive it, then pick it up that same night. FedEx does the same, but I have to wait until the next day to pick up. FedEx also allows designation of a different FedEx pick up spot but they seem to need to send redirected packages to multiple places in the city before I can pick it up resulting in a longer delay.

And don't get me started on USPS!

B&H has switched main carriers in favor of FedEx a short while ago. Now, instead of receiving my orders the next day, it takes two days. I live in PA about 100 miles from the store and less from the NJ warehouse. I've complained, to no avail. I get it, it's more about money than customer satisfaction! If this affects you as well, I ask that you complain to them. If enough of us complain, perhaps a change will be made. Please don't mistake my comments. I still am a big fan of B&H, I'd just like to get this issue resolved! Thanks for listening.

It is of my understanding that you have the same choices with FedEx, as with UPS ( like next day, second day, etc.)! At least I never had any trouble choosing with them!

It really makes no difference to me. My last three orders were via FedX and not only was an extra day added, but the track still showed next day. One order was even listed as nobody home for delivery and that was a blatant lie. Door open and me in the garage or yard all day. Beats paying for delivery!

B&H's default shipper is FedEx but if a customer prefers, UPS & USPS remain available for domestic shipments. Yo can make the choice during check-out. We switched because, despite the OP's complaint, FedEx is demonstrating speedier and more reliable on-time service, fewer lost or damaged packages and is more responsive to our customer service dept.

Dave, I think your issue is living in NE Connecticut. If you could just get those left lane slow drivers to pull to the right lane, you could probably get same day delivery.

LOL, you are right, but that does not explain the faulty tracking/delivery date info info provided by FedX.

Thank you Henry for picking up on this. That was my intent. I did my best not to 'diss' B&H, because you do remain my fav, yet I, perhaps just me from the responses to my diatribe so far, am not happy @ the switch from UPS. To begin, UPS does have trouble every Holiday season. That's a known fact, which I plan for. I never expect a package, shipped during the height of the holiday season, or during bad weather, to arrive on time. Your plethora of articles puts UPS in a bad light, yet all other shippers are there with them, including FedEx and USPS. My complaint was, and still is, that FedEx takes TWO days for delivery where UPS took only one! Finally, I did take up your suggestion that I can pick UPS Ground to be the shipper. I just tried that using a $190 monopod combination that sits in my wishlist. That would only have cost me an additional $ 25. So let's be fair here. In a perfect world, since you state that FedEx gives you guys much better responses, please call FedEx and ask them why my last two orders took one day to move around New Jersey and another to be delivered. The response I got from then the last time was not very satisfying. Again, thanks for your response and your help. If you wish to continue this conversation in private, please PM me.

It's REAL! I'm not USUALLY the one who doesn't plan. That would be my customers who all of a sudden need 100 prints by later today for their party, or something like that. Under normal circumstances, 2 days is fine, but one-day is a very nice back-up. I would also give up shipping to live in Alaska - lucky dog!

your customers and what you promise them are YOUR responsibility - you complain about B&H service but dont take simple steps that ensure you can give good and timely service to customers

Agreed. There are times when two days is just fine. There are also times when I need something now and I was able to depend on B&H for just that. A good example for me would be printer ink for my Epson P800. I don't pre-stock it as I like it to be as fresh as possible. There are situations when a large order may come in completely unexpected and I am in need of more ink. Having B&H a day away, avoided driving to get more ink. No, it's not the biggest deal in the world, but I would like it to go back to the way it was. Perhaps I am just too old and cranky?

B&H offer one-day shipping (and, if memory serves, next-day shipping) at extra cost. If you need whatever you order very quickly, the extra cost may be justified.

It's not important to me if it's UPS or FedEx, just as long as what I order gets delivered.

I had issues with B&H product shipped USPS Priority, as our regular letter carrier was on vacation and the "replacements" were morons. I request that they ship via FedEx.

Well, I had my multiple motion Fed-Ex issue today. I ordered a couple of shutter releases on Sunday. They were to be delivered today. Fed-Ex stated that they delivered the package “at front door” at 11:40. I checked at noon, no package.

Long story short, I immediately contacted Fed-Ex and they stated they would have the driver look into the issue and they would get back with me. At 21:30, I called them back and they repeated the delivery assertion. I told them it was not delivered to my home and they said it was delivered to Sandra, your neighbor and I could get it from her.

I informed them I have no idea who Sandra is. They said she is your neighbor in a wheel chair. I know all the neighbors within 4 doors each way on each side of the street, no Sandra, no wheelchair. I asked for her contact info so I could retrieve the package, the stated they could not give that. I told them I expect them to retrieve the package and deliver it tomorrow. We shall see.

This is not a B&H issue, although they sent the package. This is a moron driver at Fed-Ex issue compounded by an idiot customer service employee. Hopefully, the moron driver gets it right tomorrow.

While, in general, I do not have problems with UPS or FedEx, our local UPS people never leave anything outside (we live across from a busy community center) I have had that problem with FedEx. Now, whenever a FedEx package is on its way to my home address, I use the tracking number and change the delivery to my wife's office where there is a 24/7 front desk. Don't know what I will do if she retires.
