I'm still happy with my 100-400 lens after a trip to the water park!

It's been so hot here in Arizona that the chances for photography have been limited. We took a quick trip to Gilbert's Riparian Preserve this morning and I got a few pictures with my new lens. I'm still delighted with it! Not all the pictures are perfect . . . especially when the bird is flying . . . but the fault is mine, not that of the lens!

That is a great lens. I don't know if we ever get that 'perfect picture'. But as long as you get closer to it each time you shoot you're doing great!

Thanks! They’re much better than I could ever get with my old lens.

Thanks! I’m convinced good glass makes all the difference.

Nice catch on the Green Heron. I like the reflections.

Thanks. They don’t like to pose as much as the Egrets!

Could you fill me in on which 100-400 Lens you refer to?

Glad you are happy w/o the lens. Birds in flight are not the easiest things to capture

The times that I have seen them, they were hiding in the Mangroves.

I have the Canon 100-400mm L IS II. This was a real upgrade from my Canon 70-300mm and of course a lot more expensive. But the results are so much better. It's sharp even on the upper end as long as I don't shake it!

Thanks for the reply. I’d like to upgrade my lens, but in my case shooting a zillion more pictures would probably help me even more. Very nice pictures!
