I have an Olympus flash ring, (somewhere?), that looks and acts very similar too. Got it back in the early nineties. About the only difference is that it had wires going to the flashes.

The compatibility list may have more to do with when it was written. It also does not list the D500 or D7500. Why would those and the D850 be any different from most Nikon DSLRs?

Ditto: a copy of the Nikon r1c2 system Which happens to be a great set up
