It seems like the waterfall is being forced into the background a bit, but that's not all bad news because the tree seems happy to hold centre stage. I suspect that it was a very interesting corner but the composition possibilities were probably very limited.
I think you did good job. My only issue is that I think the water is too smooth. Smoothing the water can have a beautiful effect but in this situation and I think it is a tad too much. I lose the idea of water. I would like to have seen it just a little more natural. Thanks for sharing.

That is a really pretty picture.
It's lovely. I do agree with Kenievans about the smoothness of the water. Having spent just a few days in that area, I well understand just how difficult it probbly was to get that. I recall that several of the waterfalls I found were in very dark areas.
By the way, it's good to see you back again. I've missed your posts.
Thanks all of you for the feedback! This was a tough shot, as I could not physically get myself into a decent position - perhaps with a rope, but that's for another time. The tree was in the way, so I tried to make use of it as a part of the subject matter, and to put the waterfalls to one side. And yeah...it was dark down in the creek area below, so I was a bit forced to slow the shutter speed, even at higher ISO.
And thank you AzPicLady for the welcome back. That was nice of you. :-)
Very good work on this one.

I find that the "smooth water/milky stream" argument is a lot like arguing about what part of the lobster is best: Claws? Tails?. The bottom line is that it is completely subjective and personal. I don't think there is a right or wrong. You know that I've been experimenting a lot lately with long exposures, so my vote goes with the milky look here. (again totally subjective). I think you did well to try to have the waterfall going around the tree in your composition. I can imagine that it was a tight spot and the camera placement options were probably limited. I like that you incorporated the tree because it makes the photo about more than just a stream of water. I like it.

Thanks all. I appreciate the feedback. I will be going back to try to get a better angle by dropping down the canyon sides a short distance with my rappel rope. I'll see what the different perspective does to the subject.
