Rapid Fire Shooting

I have a question for all of you canon users. I have a T3i and I really love this camera but there is one thing I have not figured out on it. Can you do rapid fire in automatic mode and if so how do you do that? I do not have a problem in manual mode at all but there are times where you just do not have the time to set up fast enough in manual mode. Thanks

I don't think so.
But it will work in Av mode which is better than auto (especially if you are comfortable with manual)
Go to drive mode when you are in Av or Tv and select it.
Also in this menu are 2 and 10 second delays and single shot.
The burst modes(s) (or so called "motor drive" mode, left over from film days) are not available in Automatic on most Canon DSLR models.

Sport mode also shoots in auto continuous mode - it will shoot as many frames as the buffer can deal with so Raw + Jpg will only shoot 3 or 4 per burst...

On my T1i in p mode you just set burst on the screen and it goes when you press the shutter, Bob.

I have a t1i. I don't know if Canon has changed this or not with the t3i but first, read your owner's manual. Then try
pressing the left arrow on the circular switch at the back of the camera. According to the spec photo it should be the same.

When you press that you should get a screen menu that allows burst at 3+ frames per second. That should work in any mode on the camera.
