In my opinion, spend a couple more bucks and get the "L" model.
I have the 34L. Great tripod. Everything about it is exceptional. I doubt I’ll ever need another one.

I could have saved plenty by not skimping. My second one is decent and I just ordered my last one. My wife will verify that. When she finds out.

OK, go ahead, you don't permission from anyone here. Just make sure it's stable enough for whatever camera and lens you have, though, or someone is bound to call you a fool.

Glad you cleared that up.

Well, to be honest, I couldn't afford it, but I'm sure many of our more affluent members could easily.

Good. So do must people. Even those who already own tripods.
Just kidding.
But you really do need to describe what you are expecting from a good tripod - cost, application/reason for needing a tripod, your level of expertise, camera and lens(es), head preference, weight (of the tripod), height (your height), etc etc etc. And most importantly - what you are using now that doesn't work for you - if applicable.
Otherwise, the shotgun approach would be to get a Gitzo or Induro Series 5, RRS Versa with a RRS collection of heads - macro, long lens gimbal, pano head, geared three way pan head, etc etc etc. Get ready to write a check for $3000-$4000 for all of it. I hope you aren't looking at a camera support system for a studio, then you can blow the wad on a Cambo camera stand and geared head just for that. You can see that your question needs some serious qualification and detail.

What I meant was how you thought a thousand plus dollars for a tripod was a bargain.
