What is necessary to understand and important to know regarding the "Read & Write" speed in a SDHC 16gb or 32gb memory card for my Nikon D3300 Camera?
Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge concerning this subject.

For the D3300 the important thing to know is "Does it Read and Write?".
This is so helpful and encouraging for all
of those who write in asking for help. As
a Hogger this is just what I would want to
read.

Well Ted, you have time enough to compose snarky personal comments why not take time and type 4 or 5 paragraphs of basic information that boils down to "entry level camera needs only entry level memory cards"??

The short answer is Class 10 (vs slower 4) and you only need faster-than-standard speed if you do a lot of burst photos were you could overload your camera's buffer and slow your shooting recovery speed.
Ah, Ted. You've noticed there are snarks circling the waters of UHH.

My first DSLR was a Nikon D90. When shooting video, I noticed that the video was out of sync with the sound. The longer the video clip, the farther out of sync the audio and video clip became as the clip progressed. At that time the fastest SDHC cards available had a speed of 45 MBs. Then SanDisk came out with 90 MBs cards. I bought one and the problem went away. So read/write speed is important.
For still photography, the main advantage of a faster read/write speed card is when you are shooting automatic bursts. If the write speed is too low, the camera will slow down waiting for information to write to the flash memory. A fast read speed is only important if you want to speed up the transfer of your data from the flash memory to your computer.
Although I kept my D90 as a backup, I now use a D800 which has two flash memory slots. One is for SD cards and the other for CF cards. I use SanDisk Extreme Pro 90 MBs SDHC cards as my in camera backup and SanDisk Extreme 120 GBs (UDMA7) CR cards as my primary memory and I have never had a problem. I would, therefore recommend SanDisk Extreme Pro 90 MBs SDHC cards for your D3300.

Read your manual! The camera manufacturers usually include maximum speed and capacity your camera can use. Anything more is overkill.

Either post nothing or valid information.

What is that supposed to insinuate?... That the D3300 is not a quality DSLR?
I realize it is Not the "Top-of-the-Line" of DSLR cameras, but for a person just getting started, it is a great Camera to learn Photography.

I agree. For what and whom it was designed for it is definitely a “quality” DSLR. Have fun with it as I am thoroughly enjoying my D3400 and learning a lot on the way. Best of luck!!

My Grandson has the D3400, very happy. My next upgrade "MIGHT" be the D5600 (Refurbished) or another Nikon crop sensor DSLR, Full Frames are still too Pricey for this old guy.
But right now I would really like to find a Nikon 24-70mm 2.8E AF-S Lens at a reasonable price, they seem to be quite expensive. I currently have the 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 35mm1.8G, 50mm1.8G Lens in my Camera bag.
