The first point is recognizing that we have not achieved perfection; then we try to find an answer.

The so-called Democratic-Socialism in the Scandanavian countries is doing very will. Will it work on a country as varied and large as ours? Good question.

My issue is that we aren’t even trying—in fact, are going the other way.

Okay, fair point - IMO, we are heading in the wrong direction. The recent tax cuts are a Trojan Horse. Most don’t / won’t see it.

That the HMOs are content to have one of the worst records in birthing deaths in developed countries is but one example of the perniciousness of greed. IMO, You’re not wrong, you’re just not completely correct... just the way I see it.

Calling them tax cuts is itself dishonest.

They are rate cuts, but generated more money.

The elasticity anticipated by "rate cuts" is yet unproven. BTW, you found a euphemism for calling someone else a "liar"? The increased revenues from the "rate cuts" is more likely attributable to higher employment and the associated increased taxable earnings. The real test will come in the first quarter 2019 when 1040s are generated.

I didn’t call that a lie because it’s common NEWSPEAK ... and higher tax rates generally generate less revenue.

I unequivocally DESPISE trump. Whatever you gave you the idea that I support him must be imprecise wording on my part. There are some reasonable people here who support trump. I believe they do so because of their increasing frustration with on-going status quo. I do NOT share their belief in him. He is not the solution; he is the epitome of what’s wrong.

I’ve repeatedly said I wrote-in a Romney/ Huntsman ticket (for which I have been soundly criticized-so what! I voted my conscience.

Let me be clear; I despise Trump; in my opinion he is a lying, immoral, petty fraud who is more interested in helping himself, his family, and his friends than he is about promoting the best interests of our country. I think he abuses our allies and embraces our enemies. To me, he is the consummate fraud not to mention an outrageous narcissist.

Does that clarify things for you? Sorry if I confused you with earlier posts.

I have little problem with this post and you may be surprised that while I do not give it a full endorsement I do agree with much of what you have said here. This is a long and thoughtful post that requires the same as a response which if I find the time I will try to answer...

One thing that you may consider however if you find personal bashing and vitriol to be uncomfortable and unproductive, you might consider that when you call the president of the United States and Orange Moron that only the Uneducated and Unaware support you are insulting those who have faith in this president and those who agree with his policy. Those were not your exact words but they get to the gist of the opening of this thread.

I have no problem accepting that people have policy disagreements, that each side sees different paths as being the best path to take for America's future, but belittling the president and his supporters will never result in the type of conversation you seem to wish to have here.

With Trump it's easy. If you don't like his policy, wait a few minutes. It's likely to change.

I didn't say you support him. I said you helped elect him.

I vote my conscience... period. “Donnie” was not expected to win and I find Hiliary to be an anathema to sound government equal to but different from “Donnie”
