I love my Cotton carrier! Carried it in Northern Ireland for a week. It was good to have hands free for climbing.
I love my Cotton Carrier, too. But the OP is carrying a dslr with a 150-600mm lens. He seems to want it attached to a monopod to be able to grab quick (wildlife) shots. There's really no great solution for him.

LOL, Yes I have to laugh at all the cotton carrier and similar recommendations
Actually the Cotton Carrier mounts high on the chest and has a strap to hold the lens tight to your torso so it may work perfectly and as one of the others said use the Mono pod as a walking stick. That's what I do anyway.

Never never carry your tripod with your camera attached. I have seen many photographers have their cameras detach from the tripod and fall to the ground.
I take the centre section of my OPTECH neckstrap out and place the remaining length under the body.
