Looking to buy the USB Clip for a Nikon D800

I've been looking on CL, EBAY, Amazon & Even Nikons site trying to find the plastic clip that supports the USB Cable when tethered. I've come to the conclusion there just not available. So I'm reaching out to all the Hogs out here hoping someone has one that they don't use and want to sell. Anyone ????

You could accomplish the same thing with a short velcro cable tie that has a passthru for the cord. Just loop through the strap lug and your're good to go. Next, call Nikon's tech support number and ask them. I once purchased the leatherette skin that goes over the memory card lid for a D810 from them.

Yes, and I've tried various home brewed ideas to secure the cable without much success. I've never had the plastic clip that ships with the D800 as I purchased my camera pre-owned, and it wasn't in the box. I don't know, maybe the Nikon clip isn't all that great, but I wanted to try it. Thanks for the response though. I might try calling Nikons Tech support. Its worth a shot.

Hello Gary:

Perhaps this will help you out?

Referred to as the "jerk-stopper"...

More specifically:

Have a nice day...

Hi Ed,

Yup, I'm aware of that item. I Actually fashioned my home made version based on that design without a lot of success. It seems the weight of the cable tends to pull down on the connector breaking the USB connection. If I tension the Jerk-Strap enough to prevent that, it tends to lift up on the bottom of the connector causing connectivity issues there as well. I'm beginning to believe my USB 3 Cable might be slightly worn, or the camera socket is worn just enough to make the connector loose. Maybe its time for a new Camera? (If it were only that easy)

Is this what you're looking for? If the answer is "yes," pm me with your address and I'll send it to you for (drumroll, please) FREE. It cost me a trip to my basement to find something I didn't even know I had but had kept because I'm anal-compulsive.

That looks like it could be a viable option for sure. If you look a post or 2 previous, Dick is sending me the Nikon clip which I hope, and feel will do the trick. (Hoggers pull thru again)

If for some reason it doesn't the RRS item would definitely be my next choice. I wonder what's up with RRS though, nearly everything seems to show out of stock.

Thanks for the follow up.
