Wooly Aphid

Is this really a wooly aphid? This bug is really small and something I've never seen before. I Googled "small white 2-winged insect" and one of the pictures that came back indicated it might be this aphid.

I believe so. There are many,they look alike. To ID further would be a "why". They are what the white fuzz on the underside of many leaves will be. This is an adult stage. Bill

As I understand it, these produce a fine wax secretion that comes out in very fine filaments. It serves as a kind of deterrent against their predators since it offers a jaw full of waxy fuzz.
