The most fascinating spider I have ever seen. I don't know if it's he or she, but from some angles it looks like it's wearing a beautiful dress. Name: Micrathena, barely 1 cm. I tossed the pine needle into the web and it immediately scurried up to check it out.

SpyderJan, Much as I enjoyed shooting this one and learning about it, it's still pretty scary to me! It's very tiny but it doesn't take much to give me the willies!

Fergus, it lives in my back yard in NC. It's called Micrathena. I almost walked into it's very large web, which stretches from one branch to another on an oak tree. It's so small I thought it was just some little bit of smutz until it moved. Then I came across another one in another nearby tree web.
