FastStone Sketch function

I recently downloaded FastStone strictly for the Sketch conversion function. Somehow, something changed. When I select an image I want to view as a sketch, I am only able to move a small box around on the original and it converts only what is in the box. Is there anyway to change that back to grabbing the full photo? Thanks.

Does your screen look like the below? On the right side the "navigator" allows you to move around to see a close-up section, and you can use the magnifying tools under the box to zoom in or out (making the box larger or smaller).

Once I click OK, the entire image has converted.

The preview button to see the effect over the entire pic

Linda: thanks. I made a rookie mistake in that I wasn't looking at the entire photo, just saw the "preview" box on the original photo & made an assumption. Here's a test I just processed, a clivia bloom from this spring.

Neat! You've gotten me curious about what else is hiding in that software

I use it to view my raw files because PS Elements doesn't have the simple capability (speaking of preview) of viewing the jpg embedded in the raw "just to see what's what" while browsing an entire folder.

I've been trying to do sketches from photos for several months. I watched UTube videos, wrote down the instructions, and tried it. One worked - once. Sort of. This looks like what I'm looking for!

Try using Bridge. I believe it comes with Elements.

Russell, thanks for the suggestion. However, I only wanted to play with that 1 effect and the price was right for FastStone. [ FREE ] There may be a couple of other hidden gems in the software & I'll get the chance to play around with it at some point. I have Photoshop 7 and don't intend on giving Adobe any more of my $$$.

I believe Bridge has been part of Elements since 2013, so it's free if you have an Elements version more recent than 2013. Also, Bridge can be used as a standalone program, and is free in that situation, too.
