If you really want to get offended/ticked off then hang around The Attic a while - it is one of the places the OP 'donrent' posts a fair amount of the time.

I am a retired classroom teacher. Or do you know how to find someone's posting history?
And yes, between 4 and 5 months on UHH is a short time to be setting yourself up in judgement of "99%" of the forum.
Retired classroom teacher is all you had state - that explained it. I was in a career where to be successful had to answer the actual questions not the imagined ones. Yes on history - I know how to do a lots of things here. Not my first rodeo in life. I followed this site 4-5 months before joining. Yes I can judge because had you read I was judging the period I have been here. I apologized to you when I originally missed your comment but you had to make it personal. So, knowing you have to have the last word, go for it. I'm moving forward.

scroll down below the message window.
click on "Choose File" and browse to find the image, double click the image to load it
check (store original) then "Add Attachment" and wait for it to finish loading - it can be slow at times
finally under the message window click "send" and wait, lately it gets error messages and I sometime have to try 2 or 3 times for it to process

Robert just an FYI, I am not seeing the behavior you describe above. For me pics upload in a couple seconds and I don't get any error messages after hitting send.

OK, peace let's just agree to disagree sometimes and agree other times.
I will now apologize for being grumpy.
I don't need to have the last word and did not really mean to make it personal. Bad day and more than a bit grumpy. A lot of major stress around here as we scramble to get our youngest off to Florida to start Medical School on the 23rd and she and Mom took my car to go shopping for a car for her to take to Florida, with Mom's in the shop that left me home with a list of errands of my own and no way to run them.

In the photo realm I am mainly birds, macro, focus stacking and a little bit of just about everything else. I will try a new technique until I seem to understand how to do it, add it to my "tool box" and then move on to something else.

This forum has all kinds, some pay attention and stick to the subject. Some just look for excuses to preach on their favorite subject. Some are stuck in a rut and can't see out of it. Most are really out to help if they can.

But like I mentioned if you haven't already observed "The Attic" it might be worth a day or two of peeking. That is a real zoo. At first it was for subjects that could get controversial - politics etc and you could actually have debates/discussions with reasonable people who just thought differently. Then the "True Believers" took over and drove most of the reasonable people out. There are a few of them that have split personalities - Adam Henry in the attic and photographers out in the other sub forums but most seem to just live in The Attic and never take a picture.

Peace, have a good weekend.

Thanks for that info, I guess Murphy has paid a visit to my computer and/or my internet provider.
I guess I will amuse myself going over everything I can and see if I can get things working again. Too bad my daughter changed boy friends about a year ago - the old one was a computer science and engineering major.

You're welcome. Good luck! FYI what is you internet bandwidth? If it's too slow you might be getting server time-outs thus the error messages. You might want to start with a speed test of your internet. Recently my internet speed suffered a drop, things were getting "squirrely" and speed dropped way down. The root cause was a squirrel had chewed through the cable up on the pole. He got 80% of the ground shield first, which greatly reduced the bandwidth, but he ate around the center conductor so the connection was not completely severed and it still worked. Just very slowly with lots of errors.

3rd paragraph, actually the first phrase, says all you need to know, not just about UHH, but the entire race.

Not looking for last word but wanted to say "Thank You". I too can have a bad day - diabetic and have to watch low blood sugar will make me grumpy too. And don't think we are that far apart
on forum views. I try to be a helpful one and if you look at my post history I try to give positive suggestions if IMHO something can be improved.

As for The Attic stumbled in reading there early on for a few moments- if want that kind of crap I can watch the "news" shows. In the future if I'm ever having a one-on-one disagreement with someone, I plan to take it to Private Msg. Maybe good advice for all here. I came here to learn. So peace to you too and have a great day. For me "retirement means every day is a weekend."

Diabetic - welcome to the club
I just remembered that I made that post after spending 20-30 minutes in the yard watering all the plants, topping off the two birdbaths, filling the humming bird and Oriole feeders and putting out a bunch of large clay saucers and planter bowls that I filled with water for the birds. People are reporting birds dropping dead from the heat. Depending on which weather service you checked it was either 116, 118 or 120 here yesterday. The instruments are at City Hall and the air port which are down hill from me in the valley and of course hot air rises. My outdoor thermometer only goes to 105 and it maxed out just before noon. I put it on a string and dropped it in the pool so it wouldn't pop. I need to get a replacement for the digital one that died when the suction cup failed and it fell 5 feet to concrete back in December. Today they only predict 111, but it is already 101 at City Hall at 10 AM. All the public offices and buildings with auditoriums and meeting rooms have people on duty and the AC cranked as "cooling centers", pools etc are letting people in to cool off in the water. On the scanner the police and fire department are doing a lot of "welfare checks" on the sick and elderly.

Yeah me too and similar speeds. Ok well that's not it. How big are the files you are uploading? There is a limit on UHH. I tend to reduce my file size below that. Maybe if your exceeding the size limit there is a delay while the UHH server downsizes it?

I almost always remember to reduce the size and resolution so they will load. The message I keep getting the most is that the server cannot be found. Then 5 minutes later things will load almost instantly.

Hmmm. I'm stumped.
