My first visit to Krakow has been very interesting and challenging photographically. Initially, it was cloudy and rainy the first few days but now it's sunny and the streets are lined with many different "faces." I tried to capture the essence of the culture by photographing their faces as they play or walk the street. In my opinion, black & white photography captures the intensity and meaning of the photograph. Please download for best results. I welcome your comments. (By the way, these were shot with either the NIKON D5 or D850, NIKKOR 70-200mm 2.8 AF-S or the NIKKOR 14-24mm 4.0. ISO varied btw 200-400)

Very nice set. I especially love the first one. It’s very sharp, and the subject’s face tells a helluva story.

Very nice set, doc! Beautiful photos of beautiful people (well, I don't know about the horse's head!)
Agree with your philosophy of black and white and street photography. Those are excellent without the distraction of color.
I love photographing people and do it often. Admittedly, I have not converted them to B&W, but I will definitely experiment. Its the 'permission thing' that is typically the issue. Yesterday, I was walking near a water chute and up the path were people 'portaging' their canoes. I pointed my camera, signalled to those who I could see (others covered by the canoe) for permission and got a few good images. I typically want the eyes of the subject and thus often ask for permission. Its a joke amongst my photography buddies but I carry personal cards with my contact details, which I give to the person should they request a copy of their candid portrait. If the person signals 'no', I do not take the shot.
Nice work. Krakow is the "Prague"of Poland... not bombed during WW-2.
