Capturing tubing on the lake is probably a form of sports photography...one of the few I actually attempt (surfers are another.) We launched out onto Lake Anna, VA for a fun Father's Day. I had my 70-300mm lens and 17-55mm lens for my D7200. One of the nice things about this type of sports is that you know all the action is going to happen at a predictable distance...the length of the tow line. I tried the 70-300 first and ended up at 70 mm for all my shots, thinking I was a little too close. Switched to the 17-55 for all of these shots...and wished I had about 65 mm.
These shots are cropped and not as sharp as I would like.
The term for hitting a wake, going airborne and having your legs bend up towards your back is "The Scorpion".
Dave, looks like fun all the way around. Good work.

Many thanks, Bob. There was a time not too long ago when I might have been on the end of the towline. Nowadays, just the "recorder".
Very fun photos Dave.......I especially like #2 & #3 for the fun action. In #3 the girl on the left has a perfect facial expression to show the intensity of the moment!

Thanks, Brent - the two ladies are German "au pairs" who had never tubed before. They loved it.

That should give the German ladies something to laugh about when they return to Germany! Nice catch at the perfect moments in time.
Tubing can also mean a slow, free floating down a lazy flowing river - like the Guadalupe in central Texas.

Really good stuff, lots of action, good story telling sequence. 👌👌👌👌
Nice set! We had a place just around the corner on Lake Caroline for 26 years. I went from slalom skier to pontoon driver in that time.

Absolutely. Maybe this should be called "power tubing." Thanks, Stan

Lake rats are not surprised by this kind of action, but I suspect there are UHHers who have not seen it before. Many thanks.
