Can any of you tell me which are the smallest cameras with Optical View Finders?
Thanks,
Tom
Minox...!
But...do you mean to limit the responses to DSLRs and SLRs?
Leica, canon powershot 1000, canon g16 come immediately to mind. but optical viewfinders are becoming rare.
Don’t know which camera is the smallest to feature an Optical Viewfinder (OVF). But, in my opinion the best OVF, hand’s down, is on Fujifilm’s small cameras with easily switchable Hybrid Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) + OVF. /Ralph
I recently purchased a Panasonic Lumix LX100 which you should check out. It's optical view finder can be set to recognize when your eye is close, turning itself on and turning off the display screen. Slick. Excellent Zeiss 25-75 1.7 lens. Wonderful low light functionality, plus raw, plus manual control. Sort of a pro's point and shoot. And for this 75 year old a magical relief from lugging about on vacation my still incredible D7100 and it's lenses.

That’s an electronic eye-level viewfinder , not optical but it’s a very good one!
There are many types of optical viewfinders. Do you want to list only certain type of optical viewfinder or any optical viewfinder?

Well, yes to DSLR's, and mirrorless too if available; and, naturally, I also want the an LCD screen.
I would consider a Range Finder camera too, but I prefer something I can put up to my eye; something that has decent clarity.
I now have a Sony DSC HX80 which has a somewhat "adequate" EVF. But it's a small hassle preparing the EVF for action and using it requires lottsa practice. Not nearly as "user friendly" as an Optical View Finder.
The Optical view Finder is "there" all the time, always ready for action.
I just checked out the Fuji X100 ?? as suggested by Ralph and it seems to have what I'm looking for.
Fortunately I live close to KEH, and might just drive there this week & see what they have; after hearing more from others.
Sincere Thanks for responding.

I think the Fuji X100 series has the best optical/ electronic finder out there.
I had trouble telling which mode I was in.

I have a Fujifilm X100F that has an OVF/EVF/Hybrid viewfinder. It is small, but I don't know if it's the smallest.

Yes Mac, I am considering the Fuji X100F; sounds like it has what I'm looking for..
Thank you.

From what I've read, the RX100MIV has an EVF only. If I'm wrong please let me know.
Thanks
