Shot this young flower opening this morning. I think the live flower looks better than any of my photos and because of this I tried many different trial and errors. I finally went with 32 stacked images processed with Helicon Focus. Did a bit of clean up then took it into Topaz and added about 10% texture. Tried several different crops, never happy so I masked the flower and added this black image background. Final touch was the 5 pixel black border. Open for critique.

Jim, my $.02. I believe the flower could not be any better and the background adds to it's beauty.

For me the harsh background doesn't work with the soft beauty of the flower.
It looks like the flower has been cut and placed on the background.
