Went on a little jaunt up into the mountains of N. Carolina and hunted some waterfalls. They are widespread and some are very hard to find. Spent five days searching with google maps and only touched the surface. I am thoroughly convinced one could spend a long, long time on a quest for waterfalls in N. Carolina. Hope you enjoy the scenery. More to come

This is Bald River Falls which is located about 12 miles up the Cherahola Scenic Parkway beginning at Tellico Plains, TN. Not quite to N. Carolina yet but a nice drive.

You caught these streams and rivers when they have some water in them. Great shots of a fortuitous situation.

Very nice set of images. I spent my college years in the Carolina mountains and it is a Mecca for waterfall lovers. But you are right, "I am thoroughly convinced one could spend a long, long time on a quest for waterfalls in N. Carolina." Before you go again, I recommend that you hedge-your-bets by getting Kevin Adams book "North Carolina Waterfalls: Where to find them, How to photograph them." You've got the second part down pretty good, but perhaps the book would help with that first part.

I have been to this area of Tennessee and you are correct. Those are excellent shots of the falls and by the way, you saw more than I did.

Nice photos, Michigan has some nice falls as well. I like showing just a little motion in the falls instead of making them look like cotton candy, we are pretty much at the mercy of how much light is available and the direction light comes from. Keep up the good work.

Yes, we were careful to go after some good rains. Planning another trip maybe this fall. Great colors that time of year.

Thanks for the suggestion but when I mentioned it to my wife, her being a researcher and computer literate, she quickly dismissed the idea but thanks anyway. Thanks for the good words.
