A beautiful example of those early 60’s Impalas! And that drive-in lunch made my mouth water - a nice touch to complete the nostalgic look of your display! The ‘61 through ‘64 Impalas had such nice clean lines. I wish the auto manufacturers would bring back that clean look of the hard tops of the 50’s and 60’s!

I'm glad to hear that, but it was a good number plate. I wonder how many got the reference. 😁

Ranger, did you ever notice how the Chevy's "wings" were in full flight in '59, then they were laid horizontal in '60 (on their way down),
and finally in '61 they were folded down.

gotta wonder if someone had a plan?

1961. The year I graduated from high school.
What a month June was for Belmont.
Justify wins the Triple Crown.
And you win the car show.

Lone Ranger, congrads on the reward. My deceased brother had a 61 convertable like yours except it was a white version. Thank you for bringing it back to my memory of that car. Jim actually traded it on a 64 Red hard top, 327ci, 4 speed. Jim always loved the speed.

Any skating servers? I can't imagine them getting far in the grass.

I am not a fan of Chevy, but that particular model is one of their best, IMO. My SCUBA instructor, years back, had put a Willys jeep engine in his.

Congrats on your well earned trophy. Thank you for sharing.

To this day that car is still a show stopper. I loved it then and still love it today.
