I have always been amused at Republicans who deride Democrats as "those tax and spend Democrats." Don't they realize that it is more fiscally sound than "tax cut and spend" policies. Paul Ryan and other Republicans are retiring because they know that they accomplished what their backers wanted, a big tax cut for the rich. Ryan knows that he will now be able to cash in big time. He claims that it's because he wants to spend more time with his children. However, they are teenagers. The last thing they want is dad hanging around. I believe we will see him taking on some phony "consulting" job paying an enormous salary. The unwritten agreement between big businesses and politicians is that if you do our bidding, we will take care of you in the future. If the growing debt bankrupts Social Security, they won't care, because they don't need it. Their goal is to amass a great family fortune regardless of who it hurts. So many people have forgotten that we had a budget surplus for the last year of Clinton's term. What really scares republicans is that they know Clinton would have been elected again if the law allowed it. And since they have gone to great lengths to make that tax cut permanent, we are in for a very terrible ride.

Thank God we still have a free press to expose the truth. That's why Trump hates the media. He has trouble dealing with truth and honesty. Real reason he fired Comey and McCabe was because he couldn't corrupt them. Honest people unnerve him.
