put the sun behind you...put the cam in manual, look at the back screen...keep adjusting shutter speed and fstop till you see the sky turn blue. Of course the sky has to be blue and of course it will be hard if there is a dark subject in the foreground that you are trying to keep lit.
good luck

Isn't that frustrating! Actually, there's a lot involved in just having a blue sky - in the sky. Depending on time of day, cloud cover, humidity, and the direction you are looking, the sky might be deep blue or washed out. In Lightroom, I try to bring back some blue by cutting back on the sliders for Highlights and White.

I'll be interested in seeing what others have to say.

not sure...maybe a filter...maybe saturation in post processing...maybe you can make it darker by changing the settings while you shoot...PLAY PLAY PLAY...eventually you will figure it out. You could post the picture and ask for help from folks much more talented than I...

Or come to Ohio and get pretty clouds and a deep blue sky. :)
I always add some contrast, definition, saturation and vibrance.
