Nice shot of a disappearing species indeed!

This is a really well-composed and exposed image. I would suggest, however, that you cool it down a tad; as it is, it has a bit of a yellow cast. I hope you don't mind that I tweaked the image to illustrate my suggestion.

I like Cotondogs much better. It needs no modifications!

Love the original as it is more artistic perhaps, than the eye actually sees. Having said this, beauty is always in there of the beholder...

Thank you, plessner. Yes, it is sad, the end of an era.

Great shot, certainly brings back memories. That is what happened in the Balcarres area.
The new one was built after I left the area. You are right, they do not have any character. Thanks for posting.

Thank you, Sharon, for your kind comment. I appreciate it. Those inland terminals now dot the prairies. Not a pretty sight.
My wife grew up relatively close to the same area where you grew up. She is originally from Wolseley, Sk.

Thank you for your kind comment, rdgreenwood. Yes, the pic does have a golden tint, but that comes primarily from the time of day that the pic was taken: at the golden hour about 45 min. before the sun set. I did do a version where I made the picture cooler by reducing the gold cast and I preferred the original warmer one better. Your version is also very nice.

Thank you, Stan. I agree that the photo loses something with the cooler version.

Thank you, xt2. They are both nice images, but I do prefer the golden hour pic quite a bit better. And of course, you are correct, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
