Just a wild guess, but, I think the second sentence was Stan's
comment/compliment. I have to say I agree. 👍👍

I did a couple of prints in this method in a Class way back in the 70s. Also an albumen, and, IIRC, a “seriagraph”?

The ability to achieve these looks in digital pp, though requiring different skills, is quite remarkable.

I love what you did with these. Especially the texture! Where in the Apache Junction area were these taken? I will be in the area at the end of the month (our daughter is a teacher in Yuma and we will be visiting her)

Thanks, Andy. Yup, I've played with a few "old time" processes. One of the fun ones was using single weight print paper in a 4x5 film holder. Essentially, producing a calotype. That was fun and I'm hoping to do more of those sometime in the future.

Hi, kelso. Thanks for looking in and commenting.

The Superstition Mountain Museum is the best landmark, as it actually has an address, 4087 N Apache Trail, Apache Junction, AZ 85119 If you are planning on stopping by there towards the end of the month, there's a good chance that you can see the actual prints hanging there. Have a safe trip when you do travel to Yuma.

Accomplished through photoshop, layers, and adjustments. The originals were taken with a 4x5. Location is just north of Apache Junction, Arizona.

I'm late in viewing these. I admit the look of the processed images are interesting and even somewhat appealing.

But, besides the look of collodion, there's also the feel of collodion. And it's the feel, that undescribable something, that is missing from these images.

Adding scratches does not indicate collodion; they merely pretend to look old. A new collodion print does not have scratches, for instance, but yet it feels like a collodion print.

They were appealing enough to have a museum request full size prints of these.

The intent was not to look like they were just made. The intent, due to the subject matter, was intended to portray older, antique type prints. I hope this responds to some of your concerns.
