Just bought a used Nikon D-500. Great camera. But, it doesn't seem to format the memory card. I only have one for the lower slot. I have to delete each image manually, or delete them on my laptop. What am I missing here?
Are you aware that you need to push the OK button on the left side of the screen and not the center of the control?
Nope. Learned something new. Thanks. Now I feel stupid.
Not trying to be a ass, but I recommend reading your manual it will help with the operation of your camera. The D500 is a wonderful camera and you want to get the most out of it. I would love to have one for BIF because of the focus system good luck.
In the Navy, we often say RTFM (Read the Funny Manual) and that really does help. (Ok, I cleaned it up a bit.)
Also, on Creative Live, John Greengo has an excellent class on the D500... his cheat sheets for settings are fantastic... well worth the time... you'll love the camera, it is amazing! Good luck!
Hey, dsy, it is a wonderful camera. Good choice. Can I also recommend you do a search on YouTube for videos on your camera. Many offer great learning experiences.

Great idea. When I got mine I watched a lot of tutorials on Youtube and you can't beat it. Like a classroom in your home.
Sometimes the center button of the control sets the menu. Sometimes you have to press OK. It depends on what the menu screen says.
I'm still learning my D500. I am reading the manual and looking at some Youtube videos. It is quite different from former Nikon DSLR's I have owned.
