My guess is coyote or coyote mix. To big for a fox. My dad use to tell stories about tongue splittin on crows too but dont remember the we had for awhile talking
Definitely a coyote. My Dad was born in '24. My Paternal Grandparents lived on several farms. My Dad's Aunt and Uncle had a pet skunk. He was not de-scented and according to the family the skunk never had an accident in or around the house. Eventually the skunk disappeared. What a great generation!
Absolutely a coyote. I had a talking crow when I was a kid. The crow never did have its tongue cut.
Had a crow in 1980. Called him Quote. Only spoke crow,so I tried to learn his language. He(?) let me know when he was hungry(always) and seemed to say hello if not seeing me for a while.AND let me know he did not like my cat. I did field work for the Smithsonian in AA Co MD then and he went with me to work. The ingrate left me come fall. Oh well, guess he missed his own kind.
Ever wonder why you never see a dead crow on the road..? It's because the other crows call out, "Car, Car, Car"...okay, maybe it's really Caw, Caw, Caw.
