Travels With Bob.........A mountain Monastery.....Montserrat, Spain.
This has taken a while for me to get around posting it, but it's from our Spring cruise in 2016! After 14 days we finally reached Barcelona, Spain from Tampa, Florida. A real highlight for us was this visit to Montserrat, a multi-peaked rocky range outside the city of Barcelona, some 4055 feet above the valley floor. There you will find a mountain Monastery called Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey. It's a Benedictine abbey located on the mountain of Montserrat in Catalonia, Spain. It was founded in the 11th century & rebuilt between the 19th & 20th centuries & still functions to this day with over 70 monks. I'll attempt to share 10 photos from my collection that will hopefully give you a good overview of a truly unique area. Bob

Thanks dancers for your "Mount Rushmore" comment!
There's a big distance between the two, but even in these pictures (#2 especially) I can almost see what appear to be figures of stone. Much appreciated, Bob

Thanks Doddy! It was a "beautiful place" and still lingers in my mind as one of my favorite side trips. It wasn't preplanned, but something we decided to do while in Barcelona for 3 days following our cruise. Much appreciated, Bob

Nice travel photos, Bob!
Thanks jaymatt for checking this one out. It took me a long time to finally post this one, but I'm enjoying reliving the moment once again. It was two years ago this coming week when we experienced one of those life interruptions that required time away from UHH for awhile. And once back.....I shared current things vs the older stuff. Happy to have finally done this one!! Much appreciated, Bob

Really neat pictures of a place I'll never have the opportunity to visit. thanks for the insight. Also, in the 2nd picture, is that a Star Wars creature in the center of the picture watching over those buildings?
