Any recommendations for a 35mm negative scanner?

I think my Epson Perfection V600 Photo is a good 35mm scanner, but I have never used it. Look up it's specs.

The PrimeFilm XA is definitely worth consideration for 35mm film strips and slides. Used in conjunction with Silverfast scanning software you get excellent control of resolution and unequaled removal of artifacts (dust). I've been using one for more than 2 years now to archive my nature slides and old film strips. The only draw back is that it is no speed demon but the output quality is worth it.

I am happy with the Plustek 8200i. I had a Nikon scanner for a number of years and that was also great but sadly no longer worked so I grabbed the Plustek based on price and reviews on B&H and am happy with it.

I needed a new scanner and chose Canon 9000F MkII. It copies slides negs etc as well as documents.
I have also obtained decent copies using an artists LED light box and a macro lens on my DSLR mounted on a tripod.
I would imagine it would work with any lens.
Once set up if you have a lot to do then it's much quicker than loading and unloading a scanner.
Just slide the next into position and take the next shot.
I use a IR Remote to avoid vibrations.
By the way it's a lot cheaper and can be used for other things. I've seen A4 sizes from £9!
My wife uses it for tracing patterns etc.

Epson and pick the model most applicable to your work. I've been using a Perfection 3200 since 2001.

I’ve been very satisfied with my Nikon 8000 ED scanner and Vuescan software.

Yes... a camera with 1:1 macro lens and highly diffused color corrected light source. Record raw images. Invert image curves in post processing software. This method is best for B&W negs and color slides. Color negs can be tricky.

Epsons work well, IF you scan at very high resolution (3200 to 6400 dpi). But each frame takes a loooong wait. Lower resolutions *may* be suitable for social media or very small prints.

I use the 750, like it a lot. Does negs, slides in any format you can think of to 8x10.

I have an HP sx20 scanner. It will scan negatives, slides and up to a 4x6 print at resolutions up to 4800dpi. A small 9x10 footprint too. The only problem is that HP has orphaned it and doesn't provide drivers for anything newer than Win XP. Maybe they do for Apple? If you have an older laptop it should work just fine.
Epson has the V600 but it has a larger footprint.

Viewscan works with it, at least the last time I had mine hooked up a couple of years ago - on both Win 7 Pro and Win 10 Pro. Of course on both machines it was grandfathered in as a legacy app when I upgraded. I have a lot of stuff to scan and guess I should hook it up and see if things go OK.
