Amateur wannabe photographer here suddenly realizing Snapbridge will not send your (original mp) pictures to your computer via your smartphone. Didn't stop to think about the phone's capability. Reduced 7mp to 450kb. I really feel intelligent right now.
Conclusion: With the exception of being able to use Snapbridge as a shutter trigger it's pretty much useless.
Pretty much seems that way! Not really sure why Nikon has decided to use that in their newer cameras. I would prefer to use the WMU app that I use with my D7200. I just purchased a Nikon A900 as a pocket camera and it uses SnapBridge, which is very frustrating to use, not user friendly in the least.
Not to mention if you have a week signal...
Yes, my phone can be sitting right next to the camera and it says that it can’t connect, that the device may be out of range....do I have to install the phone inside the camera, or what!
Ok, I may have to retract some of what I said, I was playing around with my new little camera tonight outside taking pictures, my phone was in the house, I came in and was going to load my pictures from my camera to my phone...all the pictures were already there! I was very surprised, not to mention pleased!

Maybe you're doing something wrong? I can download a 20 mp 8mb picture from my camera to phone with no problem. You can set up snapbridge to auto upload a 2 mp pic. Check your settings.

Can it automatically download the 20mp, or is the 2mp that is automatically downloaded, but you can go into SnapBridge and select photos to download and then it asks you if you want the original size? Or an you set it to automatically download 20mp?
Straight Snapbridge. Nikon D3400 to a Motorola Droid Turbo 2. Works great every time once you set it up. What I have found is to turn off Wi-Fi on the phone, then turn on Bluetooth. Start the Snapbridge application. Now turn on the camera. Now as I take pictures, they are transferred to the phone as 2mb files. Also the GPS is embedded in the exfif file.
Make sure your software is up to date. Mine is currently at Snapbridge V2.0.3 and Android 7.0.

There's a help section in the app to give you the assistance you need.
Tried Snapbridge and it worked "OK". Yes it will _not_ send raw files to my cell, and jpegs are sized down.
But it was handy to be able to display/share them from the phone.
Once again the marketing jerks overstate for sales. Like to share my size 11s with all of them, up-close and personal.
