Took the train from NJ to B&H photo yesterday. What a mega store that is. Hundreds of employees, more checkouts than the local supermarket. Service was GREAT.
Was done with purchase, and check out in 20 minutes and then I browsed. Bought a D7000 and a wirless release. Was a great and pleasurable experience.

Good for you! Now, if they will only deliver the D800e i ordered from them on March 4, it will be great!

Now you have done it. Given me a reason to visit NYC!
100's of staff. Really? This small town Chicago boy is impressed!

Your location is listed as "in hiding." Did you tell B&H where you live? :D

That way, the store always looks busy. :D When I was a kid traveling with my parents, they would never stop at a restaurant that didn't have lots of cars in the parking lot.

You say Chicago is a small town? That's what we all say in NY, but I didn't Chicagoans admitted it. ;-)

Jerry,

Chicago is made up of many neighborhoods. We have 50 aldermen that each rule about 60,000 people. Chicago feels small if you stay in your part of the city and many do. I have nearly everything I need close by and if I need more I take the EL downtown or to O'Hare. No need to drive anywhere.

Sounds ideal.

No, I don't appear on TV, usually!
I am registered @ B&H. So they know my address!

Thank you for visiting and for buying stuff and for taking the time to post this, which is both gratifying and greatly appreciated.

I haven't had a business trip to that area in a long time, but the next time I am there, I hope that I'll be able to visit B&H.

Someday, when I've saved enough to start burning that hole in my pocket, I'll have to take the Acela to NY. It's a fairly quick trip from DC.
