Definitely two different pitches. Woman in BG could not have changed her hand positions in the time it took for the ball to get to the batter and the swing.

Yup, 2 different pitches for sure... catcher's mitt waist high in the first, at the knees in the 2nd. Ditto for the balls, both pics pre-impact (if there was any <g>).

sorry, two different pitches. The ball is in two different elevations (as well as the catchers mitt), and the batters right foot is planted in two diffetent spots. Exif data will show around a minute between shots, or more. Lens at two different zoom lengths.

I agree with AZyooper, 1st ball incoming (pitch) 2nd ball immediately off the bat. I shoot a lot of baseball for action shots and have done this several times. Wait till you get one coming an and then the next just meeting the bat. Really its good timing.

Maybe, but the first one makes him look late on the swing. If he hit it at all, I would expect a foul ball on the right.
