Makes me wonder why some people are so hateful toward these little guys.

Was the poster of that video named Rube Goldberg?

The back story was that the fellow put up one section at a time with the food reward at its end. When the squirrel mastered it, he would add another and repeat the process. This video was the end result of both their efforts. I imagine that this was rewarding for the squirrel and quite therapeutic for the fellow.

They're hated in the UK because they are an invasive species that, because of the diseases they carry, they have almost wiped out the far more beautiful native red squirrels:

I wonder if he had to do the obstacle in reverse to get down from the feeder.

I saw that video a few years ago. I still get a chuckle out of it.

I've heard this before about squirrels in the UK. I suppose beauty is a personal thing...I do not find the red squirrel with ear tufts to be all that adorable. They are nice and an oddity for me, but I find the Grey Squirrel, Cat Squirrel, and the Fox Squirrel to be much cuter. We also have a grey Albert's Squirrel with those ear tufts, but for me they are also more of a curiosity rather than they are a pretty squirrel.

Albert's Squirrel
