I will be spending some time in June in the Palouse Area. Is there anybody, who is local, that would be willing to show me some of their favorite places to shoot. I am only familiar with the area from my google searches and photo tours, but I would like very much to exchange ideas with another photographer. Or if you can't meet with me, please give me some suggestions for places to shoot the casual observer wouldn't think of photographing. Thanks,
Stan
I'll be there in June myself. See you at the top of Steptoe!

Don't forget to stop at the Palouse Falls, they are quite impressive in the spring! Wonderful surroundings!
I am not from the Palouse area, but live on the West side of Washington. As mentioned Steptoe Butte is a great place to get a good view of the surrounding area.
I would suggest going to Pataha Flour Mill at: 50 Hutchens Hill Rd, Pomeroy, WA 99347. They have a restaurant and museum (even a camera collection on display). Check for hours as they only do certain meals on certain days. The museum and meal are all by donation.
The Palouse Falls are great but can be touch to photograph. Wander around and find your best view based on the time of day you are there.
The Lewis and Clark campsite is a display of life size cutouts to show what it would be like to watch them setting up camp. Just east of Dayton on the Patit Road, the Corps of Discovery’s May 2, 1806, The display of 83 steel silhouettes — including 37 human and 27 horse figures.
Have fun.

Dave, Thanks for your input
Palouse area , many great photo opps, been there many times. I am in Longview Wa. Found a photographer from Spokane Wa. that knows every inch of the area. He will guide one or more of the area. Our day with him was 15 hours, shot every thing you can imagine. Best outing.
Fee ? now. But worth it.
