What a beautiful place to be . . . but not the results I hoped to get with this shot. Needs some perking up me thinks. Want to give it a go??
Feel free to download the image to your computer and edit it any way you wish. Color shifts, composites, adjustments, crops. Whatever your vision is. Then, when you are finished with the edit, post it in this thread. Edits will be accepted until 9pm on Thursday Eastern Time. After that time we will begin voting. Thank you again for your continued support.

That's better already! Nice!
I did this in LR 3. It has my basic processing: Lower highlights, increase blacks and clarity.
Made a B&W with a bit of color mixed in.

Straightened, removed chromatic aberration, made various adjustments. And added a border for presentation purposes.
Here is my take. Just a little tweaking here and there.

show quote)
I noticed on the bottom right there was a nice patch of green. So I wondered what the result would look like if there were more of it. Then I decided to play around with the color of the river. The alteration were done by painting with my Wacom tablet. Still trying to channel Donolea. I might be getting better at it; but oh, so not there at all. It was fun to try to edit using a method that is not my usual work flow.

Could do a lot more from a RAW file.

The scene was beautiful as is so it took me some time to think what might enhance it. My only thought was to include some wild life (a thank you to NJFrank).
